Yesterday, I picked up my two year old HTC Wildfire S after a long time and when I saw the Android version, it was running Android 2.3.3 and when I checked for software updates, the phone said, "Your phone is up to date". I knew that the latest version for my phone in my country is Android v2.3.5 so, I decided to figure out a way to force the update on my HTC Wildfire S.
After some work for 30 minutes, I was able to figure out a few ways to force OTA update on my phone.
NOTE : Backup all of your important information, any loss of data can occcur.
Begin by noting down the software information (such as Android Version, software no. etc). Make sure your phone has about 75% battery remaining. Now:
Again try to check for "Software Update", if it works --> BINGO!. If not, repeat the process a few times and see if it works.

Begin by noting down the software information (such as Android Version, software no. etc). Make sure your phone has about 75% battery remaining. Now:
- Go to Settings
- Applications
- Manage Applications
- Search for "Google Services Framework" from the list of all applications installed
- "Force Stop" Google Services Framework and then "Clear Data".

if the above method doesn't work for you, even after trying several times, then try this method.
This is a simple method and will surely erase all of the "personal data" from your phone(backup is necessary)
- FACTORY RESET your phone.
- When the phone has been reset, check for software updates. (This method worked for me!)
We won't be responsible for anything happening to your phone.
