Windowsify Your Android.

The new range of Windows Phone devices have started coming and I am sure you all would like to test it and see how Windows Phone looks and feels like but you don’t want to spend some money on buying a new device. You have an android phone and you want the new OS … Well the obvious option would be a good launcher that is easy to operate and looks and feels exactly like the original OS.

What exactly a Launcher is?

Launcher is basically a home replacement screen for your smart device. Launcher lets you experiment with different skins and looks that you may like. A launcher makes your device fully customizable and helps to gain some experience of something thats not on your device.

Most of the launchers are free of cost mostly for android operating system.

Home Screen – Launcher 7.

This is by far the best Windows Phone 7 launcher I have come across in approximately 2 years of testing with different launchers & skins. Launcher 7 provides a realistic experience of the Windows Phone 7. It looks totally awesome and looks almost next to real. I’ve personally used this app and believe me, It is the best Windows Phone 7 launcher I’ve ever come across. The launcher provides you with live tiles for Contacts and other apps. The launcher is fully customizable with options ranging from the tile colour to the type of animation and the time that takes all the tiles to arrange. It has an app drawer just as awesome as the home screen is. You have all the options ranging from disabling index letters and removing the background color.

CONS

Every coin has two sides and this one too has one. There is just one disadvantage that I could notice mainly that when you open an app from the app drawer it doesn’t show that fly animation that I (personally) like the most about WP.

Media Player.

In Media Players, we have two suggestions for you namely – Instamusic and ZPlayer. Both of them have a clean interface and both of them perform quite well. We personally like ZPlayer cause it has much more options than Instamusic but if you have a low end android device which low specs and an average or below average processors, We would recommend you to use Instamusic because it uses up considerably less processing power and consumes less battery. However, if you have a device with “OK” processing power and average RAM you should definitely go for ZPlayer. ZPlayer is much better but it does not come for free – You will have to play some money for. it or you can as usual download the APK file and install it, it works perfectly fine.

Messages.

In messages too we have two suggestions – Messaging Metro Beta and Messaging 7. Both are good messaging apps but we personally like the Messaging Metro Beta. It has a smooth operation (on even the low end devices) and a clean UI although you have to pay a certain amount to unlock some extra features but I would say it is worth spending. The app really deserves it. But if you don’t wanna spend money for some extra features, you can take a look at Messaging 7. This app also has a good interface but it lags at some places. In the end, we would say that it is a good app to try for.

Dialer & Contacts.

In this category, we would suggest you WP7 Contact Lite. This is by far the best version I have personally used. It has a clean interface and a simple UI. It has a Pro version too namely – WP7 Contact. The Pro version doesn’t has ads.
